A Letter From Our Queen

Hello Fairgoers,

Welcome to the 2018 Stephenson County Fair!  If you’re anything like me, you’ve been waiting all year for the fair season to roll around.  I know I’ve been looking forward to grabbing a funnel cake and a lemon shake-up, taking a walk down the midway, and watching the livestock judging.  There is no better place to do that than right here at the Stephenson County Fairgrounds!

My year serving as your 2017 Miss Stephenson County Fair Queen has been a year full of adventure and excitement.  To say that it has been life changing would be an understatement.  From fair week last year, when I was crowned, to now, I’ve experienced a side of this fair that I had never seen before.  Thanks to the fair board, my pageant crew, and everyone involved with the fairgrounds throughout the season, I was able to see and do things that I  would never had the opportunity to do without them.  I’m so blessed to have met so many amazing people through the Stephenson County Fair, including so many wonderful fairgoers who have introduced themselves to me at the fair and through the year.  The memories I’ve made are irreplaceable.  Every person I’ve met this year has impacted my life, including the three girls on my  Queen’s court, who I now call my sisters. Maddi, Madison, and Lila are amazing young women and I know I will hold our relationships near and dear to my heart for a long time to come?

This year, I’ve learned so much about the fair and our community and that has been the best  part of being your Queen.  It takes so much work from so many wonderful people to make this fair a reality.  Thankfully, I’ve not only had the opportunity to learn it, I’ve seen it and been a part of it.  Watching our community grow has been a blessing.  After being on this fairgrounds, every summer, for 19 years, this year I viewed everything a little differently because I’ve seen the time, effort, and preparation that goes into making all of the cogs turn in time with each other.  So, When you sit on the top of the Ferris Wheel and look out onto all our fair has to offer, remember to thank, and appreciate those who make it all happen.  Thank you for all of your love and support this year of my reign, The Stephenson County Fair has always been and will always be a place of so much happiness for me.
